5 Romantic Things to Do in Montreal

Montreal is hands down, one of the most romantic cities in Canada. From the beautiful cobblestone streets in old Montreal, to the sexy glamour of St. Denis, Montreal has it all. It’s the perfect location if you’re looking to get away with from it all and perhaps find love, or maybe to relax with a special someone. Here are the most romantic spots in Montreal.

1. Stay at the Ritz Carlton & eat at Maison Boulud 1-DSCN0301Splurge on a private room in the brand new Ritz Carlton Hotel. When you aren’t lounging in your luxurious room, head down to the acclaimed Maison Boulud for a bite to eat.

2. Take a dip at a Nordic Spa…on a boat!

You never know what may happen when you’re on the top deck of a boat relaxing in the hot tub. A handsome man from Paris* may approach you and compliment you in your bathing suit. True story.

*Hot Parisian man not guaranteed in all hot tubs.

Bota Bota is a nordic spa, with a focus on water circuits. First you spend 15 minutes in the dry sauna or steam bath to raise body temperature, and flush out toxins. Next, take a dip into one of the cold baths or cold shower to close your pores. Then you get to relax in one of their resting areas solo or with your amour.

3. Take a Tour of Montreal by Scooter

4. Take a stroll and see cool outdoor art and the latest exhibit at the Montreal Museum of Fine Art.

5. Grab a forbidden sip of absinthe at the Sarah B

This bar tucked into the Intercontinental Hotel in Montreal has a romantic vibe, and you can rent your own room for absinthe tastings. It’s served in the traditional way, and is a unique experience.  Although the drink was banned in parts of Europe and the USA, in Canada absinthe was never illegal. It’s very high in alcohol levels, 46% to 50% percent alcohol. {Read about my tasting!}
