It’s starting to get a little bit brighter outside, and milder weather is definitely on the way! That being said, the Toronto winter weather has been known to return with a vengeance! Winter is definitely sticking around for the next few weeks.

I love being downtown all the time, but I am a sucker for an impulse buy. That bakery has a new matcha croissant? Sold. There’s a sale on a cute pair of shoes? Don’t mind if I do! Now that I’m saving up for a wedding and a condo, I need to stop these impulse buys. Loan & Go has some great tips on how to avoid impulse buys!

Another way I’m trying to save money is by going on thriftier date nights. There are lots of great cost effective ways in Toronto to still have fun, but save some cash. Here are some ideas!

Catch the Toronto Light Festival at the Distillery District. Not only is this totally free, but it’s romantic and tons of fun! My favourite is the coloured rings installation.

Head to the beach! The beach may not be the first thing to cross your mind in February, but the Winter Stations art installation here is not to be missed!

St. Lawrence Market has been ranked one of the best markets in the world. We’re lucky to have it in our city! Pick up ingredients to cook a meal together and snack on free samples as you shop.

It’s hard to resist this cheesy but very romantic staple: the skating date! Couple can skate circles around each other for free at Nathan Phillips Square or Harbourfront.
