I just came back from a trip to Japan (guys, I think I’ll be saying this forever. It’s already been two months since I returned, but it’s like I don’t want to let go.) and I was blown away by their stationery shops. Endless floors of pens, stickers, greetings cards, adorable erasers, notebooks and…washi tape. The washi tape was nothing short of amazing. Some had illustrations on them, some had stripes, tiny polka dots….you name it. I couldn’t help but wonder, why is North American tape so boring?
Luckily, that is no longer true! Enter Scotch. Scotch has been making tape that we all know and rely on for years. But did you know that they have a collection called Expressions that will appeal to the crafter in you?
Scotch Brand Expressions tape can be used to spruce up a wall, add extra flair to your gift wrapping or to decorate flower pots. It’s up to you! Expression tapes are available in washi, shipping and Magic tape. They come in tons of patterns, illustrations, colours and finishes.
Watermelon Summer Hanger
I decided to use Scotch to brighten up a wooden hanger. Why make a hanger? The hanger could be used as a special gift to a bride to hang her wedding dress, or just to spruce up your closet and add a pop of colour. To do this craft, you’ll need 2 rolls of expressions tape in contrasting colours.
For my hanger, I used a green metallic tape, and a purple Magic scotch tape.
Cut strips of tape and wrap them around the wooden hanger, being sure to press down to fix into place. The ends of the hanger will be a but tricky, so wrap extra long pieces of tape for that bit.
I really liked Expressions tapes because they were really forgiving if you needed to move them for a perfect fit. They also cut very easily and were easy to tear off in the tape holder.
Want to make your own hanger or cool Pinterest worthy project? Scotch and I want to give you a prize pack to be as creative as you want to be. One lucky winner will win the below prize pack.
This $60 prize pack has 8 different types of Scotch Expressions tape in it, including washi tape, metallic tape, packing tape and more.
If you don’t win, these tapes are available to buy at Staples, WalMart & Grand and Toy.
Enter below. Good luck!
