For me, the quintessential night at the movies is one of my favourite date nights. What’s not to love about sharing a buttery bag of popcorn with your date and settling in to watch your film of choice? Cineplex has found a way to elevate the movie experience to perfection.

Cineplex VIP is an upscale, 19+ theater with plush leather seats, seat side service (That’s right. The popcorn comes to you.) and a special menu available in their exclusive lounge area. There are several locations. I visited their Yonge & Eglinton location. Here, the VIP area is its own section within the larger theater, and you need a ticket to access the screens and lounge.

I always like to grab a cocktail and spend some time in the lounge area before I head into the movie. If you want, you can order from their menu (think poutine, flatbread, mozza sticks and burgers) to enjoy a meal before the show.

Once you’re in the theatre, you can always order your snacks and food before the movie starts. The theatre is even licensed, so you can sip some wine while you watch your movie like I did!

The best part about these theaters is that the chair reclines! You can put your feet up and recline all the way back for ultimate comfort.

There’s honestly no better way to watch a movie, and it’s hard to go back to the regular way after experiencing it like this!
