Help me fund my Nuit Blanche project at Scarborough Town Centre!

This year, Nuit Blanche is going to be in Scarborough for the first time. I’ve been going downtown for years to volunteer, participate and wander the streets of the city during Nuit Blanche. It’s my favourite Toronto festival. I’m really excited to share that I’ve been selected as an artist to exhibit at Nuit Blanche! My exhibition will be a throwback to the iconic hot air balloon installation that was dismantled in 2009.

Giant, billowy hot air balloons that ebbed and flowed into the air. These giant puffs of colour would ascend and descend in front of the Bay. Do you remember? If you ask most people who live in Scarborough, chances are that they have fond memories of being mesmerized by those balloons. My installation is a nod to this balloon installation.

Looking upward, visitors will see more than 100 hot air balloons suspended from the ceiling. The balloons will range in size from 1ft up to 6ft, and will be gently lit. The colours of the balloons will reflect the original installation colours. The balloons will be untouchable, but immersive. New visitors will delight in the beautiful sight, and past visitors to Scarborough Town will remember those hot air balloon giants that they experienced as a child.

The installation will be open to the public for free on September 29th, from sunset to sunrise, at Scarborough Town Centre.

I need your help to make my project come to life! I’ve launched a Kickstarter to help me meet my funding goal. Without funding, I won’t be able to do this fun installation! I would appreciate any help spreading the word, or any donations that you can make. Thank you! Find out more here.
