Homesense & Weddings: a perfect match

A wedding is more than just a ceremony and a reception. There are so many little moments where you can let your personality shine through as a couple, stay true to your theme, or just have some fun. I’ve always been a fan of Homesense, but I’m an even bigger fan now that I’m planning my wedding!

I’m having a nautical themed wedding next month (ahhh!). I’m sticking with navy, white and blush, with pops of rose gold. Hoemsense has such a huge selection of items for every aspect of the wedding. Every Homesense store is different, so you never know what you may find. If you find something that you love, you should pick it up when you see it to avoid disappointment. For my wedding, I’m going to use decor from Homesense to enhance the space. (more…)

Indochino Made to Measure Suits for Weddings

IMG_4952(1)

My wedding is coming up in less than 60 days! One of the most challenging aspects of my wedding for me has been menswear. Menswear is not my forte, so I was happy to leave suit selection up to the experts! I’ve been dying to use Indochino, and this wedding is my chance.

Indochino is a made to measure menswear brand. Customers are able to choose colours, fabric, suit lining, lapel style and more. Men can visit a showroom in Toronto or Vancouver in Canada. At the showroom, you can see sample suits, colours and fabrics. You can also get custom shirts made.

As you can image, Indochino is super popular for weddings. Made to measure suits are perfect for the groom and groomsmen. There are tons of fabrics and colour to choose from. I can’t wait to show you what our custom suit looks like when it’s ready! In the meantime, I’ve gathered some of my favourite wedding looks from Indochino below. (more…)

Top 5 Toronto & GTA Wedding Venues

You may not be able to tell from my blog content, but I’ve got wedding on the brain. Big time. Currently I’m trying to figure out how I can grab some blue and white table runners without paying a small fortune. But before I got to these little details, I was focused on the big one. The venue.

When I got engaged in February, I had heard how hard it was to find a venue. I assumed this was only true for the large venues like Casa Loma, or the Distillery District. I was  very wrong. Although I was thinking of an October 2017 wedding date, I very quickly realized that many venues were taken. Venue hunting became my life. I feel like I have a pretty good grasp on venues now, and I’m going to share my favourite ones with you! My advice to you? Decide how large your wedding will be and book a venue as soon as you can. It’s never too early! The prices quoted below are current as of October 2016. Obviously, prices can change. I’ve noted if the vendors allow outside catering. In most cases, where I have included price per person that’s the minimum charge. Doesn’t include any additional fees that the venue may have. Take a look!

So, as it turns out, planning a wedding isn’t all that easy. Although I love to plan, there’s a certain kind of stress that comes with planning the biggest party of your life. For me, the most stressful part was picking a date and a venue. Now that that’s finally done, I can get down to some of the fun bits, like picking my wedding photographer and florist. I’m trying to stay organized, so I have a trifecta of stationary to help me out. (more…)
