Damn Heels Giveaway

Dashing around from work to an after-work event can be tricky. You have to remember to pack the proper outfit, accessories and heels. You then have to swap out your practical work shoes for a pair of fab sky high…and probably painful heels.

When your feet can’t take it anymore, there’s a better way. Hello, Damn Heels. When your evening is done, during the day at work or maybe at a wedding, slip those heels off and slip on something comfy.

Damnheels1Damn Heels are packable flats that come in a cute expandable clutch. That’s right, your heels have somewhere to go after you’ve relinquished them.

Each pair starts at $35.00 and are available in black, gold, silver or coral.

IMG_6840I tried the Black Diamond flats ($55)  from the Damn Glamorous collection. These two tone black flats add a subtle shine to your feet. They were comfortable and folded up easy!

These flats have been designed for a woman’s dynamic lifestyle so that you can look and feel fabulous – always. Damn Glamorous is a collection of fabulous flats inspired by high heels. The collection features shoes designed to look like a corset. The two-tone detail in front elongates the foot and leg, and shows off a hint of flirty toe cleavage. The sides skim lower ending in a beautiful lace detail in the back. The result is the look of a heeled foot, with the feel of a flat.

Comfy Feet with Orthaheel

You know what sucks? Being out and dancing around at Oshega or walking down the street at Taste of Danforth only to be stopped…by your aching feet.
Maybe those cute shoes just aren’t your size. Maybe the sole is flat and doesn’t support your arches. Whatever the reason- your day is ruined.

I’m happy to say, this didn’t happen to me.

You see…these pretty sandals have a secret.
They are specially designed by Australian Podiatrist and Orthaheel founder Phillip Vasyli. The shoes have lots of special features including a supportive orthopedic sole to keep your feet comfy….without sacrificing style!
Orthaheel’s technology assists in restoring the foot’s natural (neutral) alignment, enabling the feet, ankles and legs to dynamically function as nature intended.
The sandals that I test drove  are called Fleur ($70 on sale)  and come in 5 different shades. I wore them to Taste of Danforth and couldn’t be happier. I loved the vibrant blue colour and the cushioned sole was perfect for walking around. Check out some more sandals below.

Summer Adventure in KEEN Mercer MJ CNX

keen1This summer, I took my KEEN Mercer MJ CNX shoes and down the West Coast, and they quickly became one of my favourite pairs.

The Mercer MJ CNX is a low profile, sporty mary jane with feminine style. It features a proprietary, lightweight PU midsole, allowing the foot to move naturally. Multi-directional flex grooves on the sole enable more natural motion, and an integrated, contoured arch and metatarsal ridge provide underfoot support.

I took these shoes across the Golden Gate Bridge, to the beach in Portland & Santa Monica, and to Pike Place Market in Seattle.

(I also inexplicably wore them a lot with socks, and for those photos I apologize.)

keen2The KEEN Mercer MJ CNX are super comfortable to wear! They bend with your foot and have a contoured arch. The shoe is comprised of mesh and suede, with a rubber sole. The strap is adjustable. These shoes are available in black, red, brown and blue for approx $100.

The Good

  • They are so light! They only weigh 8 ounces. Very packable.
  • Breathable so your feet won’t get hot
  • Stylish enough to wear with a skirt or pants!
  • Unbelievably comfortable

The Bad

  • They tend to get a little dusty, especially the black
  • The mesh webbing can be a little delicate.

The verdict? These shoes are adorable, comfortable and perfect for spring/summer. Take them along for your next vacation, or wear them while strolling around in your city.

Sorel Tofino Boot Review

sorel

My Sorel boots have got me doing something that I didn’t really think I’d ever do. I wake up in the morning anticipating snow. Because if it snows, I get to wear my awesome Tofino Twill Sorel boots. I have never owned a comfier or warmer pair of boots.

I decided to test out these boots for my Quebec trip that I took in February. They stood up to the test time and time again. -25 weather, snowstorms, rain….my feet were never cold. My socks did not get wet. When I returned to Toronto, we had some awful days with slush and freezing rain. I slipped on my Sorel boots and sploshed confidently (and stylishly) through the snow.

The boots are lighter than I expected and are made out of leather and waxed canvas uppers, making the boots waterproof and breathable.  On the cuff they are lined with faux fur trim. The fur actually helps to keep the snow from going into your boots when laced up tightly. The laces are stretchy and easy to adjust.  The tops of the boots have handy leather tabs to help you pull them on.

The moulded rubber duck boot keeps my feet dry and slushing confidently through the snow. Inside, the boots are lined with a combination of Thinsulate®  insulation and Sherpa Pile polyester fleece to keep you warm.

Can you rock these with a cute skirt? Leggings? Skinny jeans? Yes, yes and yes. The Tofino boots are glam enough to shop and brunch around Toronto in, but also rugged enough to brave the elements with. These boots have become my go to boots for the season! They are also on sale…go check them out!
