Winter Getaway to St.Maarten’s

One day, while at Pearson Airport for a press trip, a woman walked by me with a beautiful blue Heys suitcase. It was love at first sight! I admired it and went on my way. A month later, I was walking past Bentley and I noticed the suitcase in the window! It was fate.

I’m very particular about my suitcases. You’ll never catch me with a plain black suitcase. First of all, it’s really hard to spot on the luggage carousal. Second of all, I like to make a statement when I travel, and this is an easy way to do it. My current collection includes a polka dot suitcase, one covered with Canadiana illustrations and now, this one! (more…)

Review: Incase Heathered Tote Bag

IMG_7235

When I went on my trip to Quebec City this month, I was fortunate to be able to carry and try out a bag from one of my favourite brands, Incase. My heathered tote was graciously provided by Take Five Trading. I was looking for a durable bag for travel, and I found it!

The Heathered Tote ($80) features a padded pocket for your 13″ Macbook, a back slot big enough to fit magazines, a front zippered pocket for your phone and a removable shoulder strap. The bag snaps closed and is quilted inside.

This bag was amazing. I was initially worried about the lack of zipper, but it didn’t bother me at all. There were lots of internal pockets inside to stash my things, and everything was secure. The best thing about this bag is that it can hold a lot of stuff. When I travel (ok, lets be honest here. Even when I’m going across the street) I carry tons of things. My newly acquired iPad (fits perfectly in the laptop section), a notebook, a novel, an extra hat, headphones, snacks, makeup, travel guides, magazines….I could go on. The second best thing is that this tote bag not only fit it all, but it did it in a way that didn’t hurt my shoulder.

Usually after carrying a bag for a couple of hours my shoulders hurt. I carried this bag around with me in Quebec City for 4 days, and I was fine. It does an amazing job of distributing the weight properly. Now that I’m back in Toronto, I use this bag to carry my laptop. The pouch is big enough to fit my 13.5″ Sony Vaio. It’s a good work bag, because I can fit my lunch, laptop and file folders inside.

This bag is also well made. The removable strap has custom metal hardware that attaches it to the bag. The zippers are strong and durable YKKs with custom pulls. The bottom of the bag is padded just in case you drop it. I loved this bag and you will too!

The Heathered Tote is part of the Lineage Collection and is available online.

Black Friday at Chapters

I’ve been obsessed with this brie baker for years…and now it’s finally mine for only $12!

And this tote is something I’ve been coveting for a bit. I love how it’s hot pink inside! Sony sells this for $90…but I got it today for $41! I love all Built NY products.

I liked this olive feather tote too! $8.00

Matt & Nat Bag

Yes! This weekend I bought a brand new Matt & Nat bag (Lascurain) that I’ve been eying for awhile! Matt & Nat are Canadian, and the lining is made out of recycled plastic bottles! Also, they don’t use leather or animal products.
