I love to cook, but I have to be in the right mood for it. This doesn’t really bode well when food needs to be put on the table daily. When I don’t feel like cooking, I find myself eating out or ordering in a lot. It can be delicious, but it’s definitely not good for you.
Too busy to cook after a long day at work, but still craving a gourmet meal? Rose Reisman’s Family Meals have you covered. These healthy and delicious meals arrive to your door. All you need to do is heat and then eat! Every week, there are new meals available to choose from. (more…)
Maple syrup, liquid gold…whatever you’d like to call it, it’s delicious. We’re lucky to live in Canada, the land of maple syrup. Virtually all maple syrup is produced in Canada. There’s a few pockets in the USA that make syrup as well, but the vast majority is here. Right now, we’re in the heart of maple syrup season. Muskoka is celebrating with a Maple Syrup Festival that runs from now until April 20th. I spent the weekend exploring Muskoka and trying delicious maple products. Thanks for hosting, Muskoka Tourism.
We spent the weekend at the Lone Pine Inn. I stayed in a patio suite that had beautiful picture windows, a cozy living room, and a full kitchen. It was like staying in a cozy cottage. We were greeted in the best possible way, with a 6 pack of local beer from Sawdust City Brewing. (The owners of the inn actually own the brewery as well.) (more…)
I’m a major tea lover, and I often am so jealous of coffee drinkers. There’s always a new cold brew, gourmet beans and new frappuccinos for coffee lovers. For tea drinkers, we usually have a couple of interesting lattes in the winter, and that’s it.
Starbucks has introduced a new type of tea to their permanent menu, for tea lovers like me to enjoy all year round. Yay! The new beverages are Teavana Tea Lattes.
The main difference between these drinks and other tea lattes, are that they are made with whole-leaf micro-ground tea. They’re then topped with foamed milk and some sweetener. The new teas are available in 4 distinct blends. (more…)

I’m in love with Maison Riviera. Have you tried their delicious salted butter in adorable jars? Now they have a new product, perfect for Greek yogurt lovers.Everyone is trying to eat healthier. Yogurt is delicious, but can contain lots of sugar.
Rivera’s newest creation is a Greek Yogurt that has 40% less sugar than other Greek yogurt brands. Each 125g serving only has 8 grams of sugar, and is lactose-free. (more…)

I love to bake. I can bake cakes, pies, cookies, breads, you name it. There’s one basic recipe that strangely eludes me: chocolate chip cookies. For some reason, whenever I make chocolate chip cookies, they come out weird. They’re spread way too much, they turn into one giant cookie, they are too soft or don’t offer any crunch…you name it.
Enter the Redpath Canadian Sugar Bakebook.
