There’s no other way to say this. It’s crazy insane hot outside. It’s hitting 33 degrees almost every day this week. The nice thing about the hot weather, is that it’s a great excuse to hang out on a patio under a giant umbrella, sipping a cool drink. Enter the DEQ Terrace and Lounge at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. I went to the launch of their new summer menu, and to welcome their new executive chef.
Along with a classy atmosphere and a delicious menu, e11even has some amazingly delicious cocktails. My favourite cocktail? Their Georgian Mule. So tasty, I could drink 3 of these! If you’re looking for something yummy to pair this with, I suggest Nonna’s Meatball (This giant meatball is a crowd pleaser and my favourite dish!) or their Chocolate Pecan Pie. Yum. (more…)
Summer weather has decided to grace us with its presence in Toronto this week, and thank goodness it has. With September starting, we all know that cooler days are ahead…so why not take advantage of the sun? You know what goes really well with sunshine? Cocktails. (Actually, cocktails are kind of amazing and go well with many things, but I digress.)
Aroma Espresso is one of my favourite cafes in Toronto. I remember when I first came across one in New York, and I was so excited to see that they had made their way to Toronto. In the winter, I love devouring their hot chocolates, but in the summer, I have a new obsession.
Aroma makes some delicious frosty drinks. I’m a fan of their Iced Berry Tea Lemonade (berry tea from Pluck mixed with lemonade! Yum.) but it gets better.
At licensed Aroma locations, you can get cocktails! (In Toronto, these locations are Liberty Village, Yonge and Eglinton, Forest Hill, Shops at Don MIlls, Avenue Road, Bay and Dundas and Niagara on the Lake.)
Summer may be fleeting, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy it to the fullest! Next time you host an outdoor soirée, consider making this playful tea cocktail. Made with DAVIDsTEA Strawberry Colada, its sure to be a hit.

Summer is halfway through, and if you haven’t been to the Drake Hotel patio yet, then you’re missing out.
The Drake Skyyard is arguably one of the best patios in the city. Combine that with its artistic atmosphere and delicious food, and you’ve got a winner. (more…)
