2015 TIFF Film Picks

The TIFF schedule will be released tomorrow- have you taken a look to see what films you want to see? The film list can be overwhelming. I’ve read the entire schedule and picked my favourites, so you don’t have to.

Casual: Shifting to the episodic format after his acclaimed feature-film work, TIFF favourite Jason Reitman (Juno, Up in the Air) directs this hilarious and insightful comedy about love and sex in the modern age.

Der Nachtmahr: After a wild night out, a Berlin party girl finds herself haunted by a twisted, repellent litte creature that no one else can see.

Miss You Already: Toni Collette and Drew Barrymore star in this touching comedy-drama about two childhood friends whose relationship is put to the test when one becomes pregnant while the other receives some tragic news. (more…)

The CNE rolling into town is simultaneously exciting and sad to me. Sad because summer is ending, but exciting because the CNE is back!

Coleman Get Outside Day

Coleman has a great new initiative that’s happening this week! Get Outside Day, is a movement to encourage the Canadian government to declare Friday, July 17th a national holiday. The reason? To give everyone more time to get outside!

I thought that we would just head to the movies and grab something to eat. I realized he was driving in the totally opposite direction from the theatre. When I asked where he was going, he simply replied, “It’s a beautiful day. Let’s go to a park.” So we did! We went to Presqu’ile Provincial Park and had an amazing time hanging out by Lake Simcoe.

Why don’t we all do this more often? Sometimes we simply don’t have the time, or just grow used to doing the same indoor activities. (more…)
