The Caitlin Power show was edgy and fun. I loved the vibrant colours, patterns and sleek cuts that created a sexy silhouette. The collection featured dresses, blazers and skirts. Leather, neckline detailing and satin abounded.Check it out! Sorry it’s a bit blurry.
I may or may not have a secret lingerie addiction. That’s why I get incredibly happy when I get mystery lingerie in the mail. La Vie en Rose sent me their latest bra to try out.
Their new bra is made out of something a little different this time. Memory foam! (Yup, just like the mattresses). The material will mold to your personal shape while you’re wearing it, and then bounce back to it’s original shape when it’s in your drawer. Fun!
Here’s a little bit more on why they chose this material.
“Two key qualities drove us to use memory foam in the bra cups of our new styles. First, this foam is thermo-sensitive, allowing it to react to body heat and ensuring that the bra cups mold to each woman’s natural curves while offering comfortable support,” explains John Izzo, Vice-President of Design and Product Development at La Vie en Rose. “Second, the fabric’s viscoelasticity allows the foam to return to its initial shape and thickness after having been handled, hence its name ‘memory foam’. This feature makes our Discreet and Fantastic bras ideal for traveling or cluttered drawers.”
I found this bra very comfortable. The straps didn’t dig into my shoulders, and it provides medium coverage. The outline is practically invisible under thinner dresses and tops, which is nice.
The Discreet Bra is $44.95, available in sizes 34B to 40DD, and come in a fun range of colours and patterns.
Find your own at La Vie En Rose online or in a store near you.
I was happy to be able to check out the new Fall/Winter 2013 Pink Martini pieces a couple of weeks ago. This whimsical, Canadian brand gives off a very vintage feel in all of their pieces.
Pink Martini caters to the confident, and intriguing woman. She’s a creative soul, with a desire to know. She loves to travel, and her influence is based on the places she knows or dreams of going to. Her style is influenced by culture, music, and trends.
I loved the various prints, muted colours, contrasting trim and fitted but loose silhouette of many of the dresses.
The collection includes printed pants, various dresses, fitted skirts and blouses and coats.
The collection ranges from $35 to $130. You can buy Pink Martini clothing online from ModCloth and PiperLime. You can also pick up the collection in Toronto at the Showroom, Charlie and Coal Miners Daughter.

I’ve been admiring Persona bracelets ever since I first came across them on Valentine’s Day.
This summer, I was lucky enough to be able to receive one! My bracelet has a sandy leather double wrap with an elegant sterling silver barrel lock closure. The leather wraps come in several shades and textures. Perfect for summer, my bracelet is accented with three pretty pastel Italian glass beads called “Fun in the Sun.”
One of the things that I love about Persona bracelets is that you can dress them down or up. You can buy sparkly beads, sterling silver charms and playful enamel ones. You can wear a more causal leather wrap, or you can choose to get sterling silver. The choices are many, and they are all yours! Plus, they always have promotions. Right now, you can buy any bead and get 50% off of their pearl collection.
Here are some beads that I’m considering adding to my bracelet. What would you add to your Persona bracelet?
Guess what? One of my all time favourite stores, LOFT, is opening up 4 brand new stores in Ontario! On Friday, they will have a grand opening celebration at their new Eaton Center location. Later this year, LOFT will be opening up at Lime Ridge Mall in Hamilton in July, Markville Shopping Centre in Markham in August and Square One Shopping Centre in Mississauga in October. Take a look at some of their summer styles below and online!
Dear Kate has managed to do the impossible. They’ve taken a relatively taboo subject and managed to market it in the most adorable, stylish way. Dear Kate creates pretty new underthings that are especially made for that time of the month.
I tried out a pair of their fancy Miss Moxie Hipster undies ($36).
I love the packaging. You can order online and if you aren’t happy with the fit or product, they’ll send you a new pair for free. (just pay shipping!)
The Miss Moxies are amazing! Stylish and super comfy. I really like the hot pink waistband. These are definitely not granny panties! Dear Kate undies give you a lot of protection without feeling bulky at all. Check out below to see how they do it!
At their launch party in Toronto last week, they had underwear stylishly hanging from hoops.
Each guest was able to DIY their very own pair of underwear. It was lots of fun deciding what to put on mine!
I was able to meet the founder of Dear Kate, the lovely Julie Sygiel. Julie has a background in chemical engineering, and actually developed the special wicking fiber for the underwear. She has lots of plans, and some new underwear styles in the works!
I hope you try them out! It’s great to see such an awesome product for women, by women. Visit www.dearkate.com to shop or visit Pert Lingerie on 1817 Queen Street East.
GlobLove Lingerie is a Canadian brand that creates soft, feminine lingerie adorned with cute ruffles, lace and bows. The brand is founded by Liana Artinian from Montreal. If it isn’t awesome enough to be supporting a Canadian brand, 5% percent of all proceeds will go toward FINCA, an organization that offers microfinance opportunities to women in developing countries.
Their new collection, Factory Girl, is just as comfy as it is cute. Check it out!
