Garance Dore & Rifle Paper Collection

gdI am incredibly excited at the news that one of my favourite illustrators, Garance Doré, is going to be launching a stationery collection with Rifle Paper Co!

This is great news and I can’t wait to get my hands on it! Rifle produces really high quality stationery. The collection includes invitations, notebooks and iphone cases.

The collection will be sold at the French store, Colette, and online on Riffle’s website. Woo hoo! The collection launches in March.

Update your look with LOFT for the Holidays

Darling details and festive frocks

LOFT is one of those stores that I simply can’t walk into without walking out with a little something. I was happy to be invited to check out what they have for the holidays!

September 201314

The details really stand out to me this season. I love the collars with tiny jeweled elements, scalloped lace and ruffled belts. The collection featured elegant dresses for holiday parties, causal striped sweaters,  and luxe fabrics.

September 201315Of course, no holiday outfit would be complete without glitzy accessories. Sequined evening bags, polka dot make up bags and simple suede heels can dress up an outfit.

To get your hands on some LOFT for the holidays, visit one of their Toronto locations (Yorkdale & the Eaton Center both have one) or shop online!

Friday Night Live at the ROM (Fashion)

If you were to walk by the Royal Ontario Museum on a Friday night, you might be surprised to see a long line snaking around the building. After your first visit to Friday Night Live at the ROM, you won’t be wondering any longer (and you’ll probably be part of that line.) FNL at the ROM is a thoroughly enjoyable way to spend a Friday night.

For $12, enjoy a themed night of music, food and entertainment. The theme changes each week! Click here to see. The theme that kicked off the fall series was Fashion.

October 20132The Art of Fashion ( was on hand with finalists from their The Art of Fashion Design Competition. Designers were on hand with models to show off their stylish designs! This was with With Glen Baxter, host of CTV’s In Fashion, award-winning designer Izzy Camilleri and ANOKHI Fashion editor Jacqueline Parrish.

Beckie DiLeo,  ( a Toronto “live painter,” artist and fashion illustrator, was on hand doing live portraits of guests. It was so much fun! She wore a fantastic tutu and painted my sister and I. She was great!

Of course, there was lots to eat. Vendors included City Gourmet, Pimenton, Curbside Bliss, Gourmet Gringos, La Rivolta, Little Tomato, The Saucy Pierogi,HotBunzz and Tita Flips.

Food and drinks can be bought using ROMbucks. Each ROMbuck is $6, and most items cost 1 or 2 ROMbucks. I had HotBunzz and tacos from Gourmet Gringos! Tasty.

The live bands performing that night were: The Walkervilles, Craig Stickland and Jamie Ruben Trio.

You’re able to wander through the ROM exhibit until 9:30 pm. After that, it can become a bit of a boozy fun party (with dinosaurs!) so you’re only able to visit certain parts of the ROM. After 9pm, the place was packed! It was a great night. I can’t wait to go to some more!

FNL at the ROM is 7pm- 11:30pm  every Friday until Dec. 6th. The event is 19+ and costs $12 to get in. You can buy tickets in advance.

The Discreet Bra from La Vie en Rose [Review]

I may or may not have a secret lingerie addiction. That’s why I get incredibly happy when I get mystery lingerie in the mail. La Vie en Rose sent me their latest bra to try out.

Their new bra is made out of something a little different this time. Memory foam! (Yup, just like the mattresses). The material will mold to your personal shape while you’re wearing it, and then bounce back to it’s original shape when it’s in your drawer. Fun!

Here’s a little bit more on why they chose this material.

“Two key qualities drove us to use memory foam in the bra cups of our new styles. First, this foam is thermo-sensitive, allowing it to react to body heat and ensuring that the bra cups mold to each woman’s natural curves while offering comfortable support,” explains John Izzo, Vice-President of Design and Product Development at La Vie en Rose. “Second, the fabric’s viscoelasticity allows the foam to return to its initial shape and thickness after having been handled, hence its name ‘memory foam’. This feature makes our Discreet and Fantastic bras ideal for traveling or cluttered drawers.”

I found this bra very comfortable. The straps didn’t dig into my shoulders, and it provides medium coverage. The outline is practically invisible under thinner dresses and tops, which is nice.

The Discreet Bra is $44.95, available in sizes 34B to 40DD, and come in a fun range of colours and patterns.

Find your own at La Vie En Rose online or in a store near you.
