It’s always fun to experience the hustle and bustle of backstage at Fashion Week!
Beauty expert, Grace Lee, glammed up the models for the various shows during Fashion Week.
This look is about creating one look for two designers. A red lip is universally beautiful look and very classic. Grace created contoured cheeks, and a full brow.
For gloss, the model is wearing vivid red, with the new Maybelline New York Color Elixir on top. Grace demonstrated to show me how glossy this new product is. She said it combined the shine of a gloss with the colour of a lipstick. I’m sold! It looks beautiful. These elixirs will come out in November.
The next look was created for the Melissa Nepton show.
“This look is definitely one of my favourites! Colourful, bright, spring-inspired yellow lids complement the pink all over the face. We’ve created a bit of a different take on blush, which draws even more attention to the eyes.” – Grace Lee, Lead Makeup Artist, Maybelline New York Canada

I bet you’ve been stressed out with the end of summer and all of this back to school jazz. Well, it’s time to take a load off at Spa Week!.
What’s Spa Week, you ask? Spa Week occurs in tandem across North America. It’s a special week where an array of spa services are available for $50. You can get facials, manicures, massages, body polishes…the list of treatments are endless. And only for $50!
I really like this, because it gives people that wouldn’t necessarily go to a spa a chance to experience it. Many of these treatments are about $100, so it’s a great deal!
I booked a massage at Holt Renfew’s Spa, and I can’t wait! There are many services being offered for only $50! Book your treatment today, spots are filling up fast! Spa Week is from October 15th to October 21.
There’s nothing better than sleepily swinging in a hammock held by giant evergreen trees on a sunny day. When I decided to check out the Scandinave Spa Mont-Tremblant, I had no idea what to expect.
The spa is beautiful, with different pools, tubs, relaxation areas and showers. Talking is discouraged, but that’s okay because you’ll want to take everything in and just zen out. So how does it work?
First, you spend 15 minutes in the warming your body in the hot baths, followed by a dip in the cold baths for a refreshing rinse. After that, relax in the resting areas and start all over again. (For a detailed description of these sessions, click here.)
What I love is the variety of areas. For the hot cycle, you can choose to go into a hot tub, stretch out on a chair by the outdoor fire pit, or visit the Eucalyptus steam room.
For the refreshing rinse, you can go into the cold pools, swim in the lake or take an outdoor shower.
The relaxation areas are my favourite. Giant couch pods (pictured in second pic) big enough for two overlook the lake. A solarium with large glass windows allow you to relax and see what’s going on in the spa below. Down by the water you can sit on the deck and take in the lake. Scattered throughout the trees are large hammocks that can fit two people. I loved staring up at the blue sky and breathing in the mountain air.
Hydration is important, and there are water and tea stations throughout the spa. There’s also a cafe where you can get a healthy lunch. You can easily spend the entire day here! A day in the baths cost $48.00 per person. To complete your experience, you can add on a massage or choose from a long list of pampering services.

I’m the kinda girl that tosses all of my laundry into the machine at once. I definitely don’t separate bras, and they do tend to get tangled in the washer. Ultimately, throwing my bras into the washing machine all willy-nilly will end up destroying them.
That’s why I was happy to get the chance to try a Bra Bather and Forever New Wash.
So, what is a Bra Bather? This soft cylinder will protect your bras. The built in frame and extra padding will help to extend the life of your bras. I managed to fit 4 bras in the bather and I used the washing machine.
I washed them in Forever New. Forever New is a special wash made with plant based, biodegradable cleansers; and is free of parabens, phthalates and dyes. It has a delicate scent, and can be used to wash lingerie & hosiery, silk, wool, cotton, and lycra.
When I took them out, they were looked perfect and smelled really good (Thanks to Forever New).
Washing bras in the Bra Bather will eliminate common problems like snags and popped out under-wire.
Now, my bras don’t come out of the washer looking like they’ve been in the losing part of a fight. No, they are pristine and ready to tackle a new week.
Thank you, Bra Bather.
The Bra Bather is $9.99 (A-C cup bras) $13.99 (D+ cup bras). Get one here. Forever New can be found here.
The new M·A·C So Supreme hit stores earlier this month! There are 8 new shades in berry and pink for you to try!
Inspired by the global trend of lipgloss with tint, So Supreme goes sheerer than ever. The lightweight formula packs moisturizing, conditioning comfort with v application, adding a flushed glow to the lips that lasts beyond the shine. Introducing eight new, limited-edition shades in luscious corals, pinks, berries and nudes – four of which, including Gwi-Yo-Mi and Heart & Seoul, are inspired by Asia. Featuring the slick, clickable, pen-style brush applicator first seen in Sheen Supreme Lipglass, tint glides on effortlessly.
I loved the pen-style Sheen Supreme Lipglass Tint. I tried it out in Glorious Intent. This shade was a light plum colour. It was very glossy and incredibly lightweight and sheer. Not sticky at all!
Next, I tried the Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Candy Apple. This went on a little thicker than the gloss, and was a pinkish plum shade. I wished it was a little darker!
