Liquid matte lipsticks have been all the craze lately! it’s hard to find that perfect long wearing formula, that won’t entirely dry out your lips at the end of the day. Make Up For Ever decided to give the trend a try with their new artist liquid matte lipsticks!
I received 3 colours in the shades 103(Warm Beige),105(Rosewood), and 109 (Praline).
These lipsticks are for people like me, who love an ultra matte finish, and no sheen whatsoever with the help of mineral clay, and kaolin powders in the formula. The formula promises to wear all day, without transfer which I have to say is very true! The formula stayed put on my lips after eating greasy foods, and did not transfer onto surfaces like traditional liquid lipstick which I was very excited about.
Swatch for Praline and Rosewood
The lipstick comes in mainly neutral, but highly pigmented colours, something for every skin tone they dry down to the true colour which is nice. The formula is smooth, and very creamy as it has avocado and glycerin to keep hydration. Although my lips did become dry at some point in the day, I did reapply, but it was not nearly as dry as my lips have been before when trying to keep on a liquid formula.
Overall, a great addition to the battle of liquid lipsticks!

I’ve been looking for a very long time for an oxblood colour from NARS that was completely matte, and without hints of brown like shades in their pure matte collection. I finally found the perfect colour of deep red in one of the new colours from called Endangered in my favourite lipstick formula, the Velvet Matte pencils! I received Endangered Red, Famous Red, and Do Me Baby.

I have written the praises of NARS velvet matte lip pencils before, but just a re-cap, the formula is one of the smoothest I have put it. It glides easily, and is also multi purposed as it can be used as a lip liner as well! I am super excited for the 10 new colours they released, with everything from a very hot pink called Let’s Go Crazy, to Unspoken, a deep navy, there’s something for everyone, and new colours to try!

The holidays are actually just around the corner! It’s time to start breaking out glittery eyeshadows, deep lipsticks and festive manicures. Here are my favourites from ACI.
If you want huge oversized lashes give Cargo Boundless Mascara ($20) a try! The oversized brush has 3 different textures so you can get maximum intensity. The soft bristle coats lashes with just enough product, the firm bristles gives increased volume, and spiked bristles gives defined curls and separation. I use all three for a dramatic holiday look.
With cold weather and snow comes watery eyes and runny mascara. Some waterproof formulas are not the best in lengthening and fanning out my lashes. Fusion Beauty has changed my opinion of waterproof mascara with their Xtension ($28) dramatically lengthening fibre mascara. With micro fibers and nourishing ingredients, it promises no smudges or clumps which has been great in cold weather! (more…)
The packaging for the lovely L’Oréal Paris La Vie En Rose by Colour Riche collection was almost as stunning as the collection! Isn’t it pretty? The pink roses were a perfect touch. (more…)
I don’t know about you, but I’m really happy to see the temperature sky rocket in Toronto this week. I’m bringing out all of my nautical outfits and ballet flats. Yay! The sun may be ready, but my skin is not! My lips have been in need of a little prep to get rid of the dry days of winter.
Enter Mèreadesso Tinted Lip Treats ($28). These balms come in pairs so that you can leave one at home on your nightstand, and pop the other in your makeup bag. The Lip Treats come in a sheer pink colour, that you can build by swiping on more. They make my lips feel really soft and moisturized. So what’s inside? A blend of evening primrose, grape seed, coconut and sunflower oils and Vitamins C and E. It’s a perfect blend to get your lips ready for summer. Bonus- it also acts as a primer.

NARS has combined two of my favourite things in their latest summer collection. Makeup and illustration! The collection is called “Undercover” and features brand new Lip Covers to saturate the lips with colour, and new shades of Dual-Intensity Blushes and Eyeshadows.
The illustrations are so fun, and are illustrated by Konstantin Kakanias. They are inspired by the French Rivera. (more…)
