When I arrived in Prince Edward Island, I had priorities. Specifically, lobster priorities. I vowed to consume as much lobster as possible, and what better way to start than with a classic lobster roll?
Tucked away in the Founder’s Hall building at the Charlottetown Waterfront, Dave’s Lobster occupies a small space with indoor seating as well as a patio.
Here you can have your lobster in the traditional way (cold) or the fancy way (warm). The best part is that each lobster roll comes stuffed with 4 oz. of PEI lobster.
I love warm lobster, so I went with the Some Fancy ($15) PEI lobster warmed in a pan of butter, lemon and garlic, topped with fresh chives in a traditional split-top roll, buttered and grilled.
I cannot stress how amazingly perfect this was. The warm, fresh lobster was sweet with melted butter and the soft buttered bun made the perfect sandwich. It’s served with a bag of Covered Bridge Chips (Loved the sweet potato ones!) and a kosher dill pickle.
My entire family had and loved the Some Fancy. If lobster rolls aren’t your thing, you can get lobster tacos, If lobster isn’t’ your thing…you should probably go somewhere else. Just kidding. They also sell a mean grilled cheese using Cow’s cheese. Yum.
