Update your look with LOFT for the Holidays

Darling details and festive frocks

LOFT is one of those stores that I simply can’t walk into without walking out with a little something. I was happy to be invited to check out what they have for the holidays!

September 201314

The details really stand out to me this season. I love the collars with tiny jeweled elements, scalloped lace and ruffled belts. The collection featured elegant dresses for holiday parties, causal striped sweaters,  and luxe fabrics.

September 201315Of course, no holiday outfit would be complete without glitzy accessories. Sequined evening bags, polka dot make up bags and simple suede heels can dress up an outfit.

To get your hands on some LOFT for the holidays, visit one of their Toronto locations (Yorkdale & the Eaton Center both have one) or shop online!

Listen up fashionistas! Hipper-than-thou Ossington has acquired a new shop  from Sweden! The aptly named Tiger of Sweden has landed in Toronto in a brand new, well designed 3,600 ft space. This brand is incredibly popular in Europe and is available in 18 countries.  I went to the launch last week to check it out!

This flagship location carries high end collections for both men and women, as well as shoes and accessories.  The collection features clean lines, tailored suits and bright patterns for spring.

Internationally, Scandinavian fashion is receiving well-deserved recognition for its distinct aesthetic, attractive cuts and cool factor,” said David Thunmarker, CEO of Tiger of Sweden.  “As a brand, we’re thrilled about the opportunity to present our collections in a discerning and fashion-forward market such as Toronto.”

Go check them out! Tiger of Sweden is at 56 Ossington Avenue, Toronto.

Backstage at The Collections with MAC & Aveda

I was invited to go backstage with MAC Cosmetics and Aveda during the Collections! Wow, is it ever busy back there. I spent some time watching a M∙A∙C makeup artist get a model ready for the Label  show and explain the vision for the show. The model was prepped to have glowing, natural “California girl” skin. This was achieved by using MAC Care Blends Essential Oils and MAC Taupe Shape Powder Blush.

My favourite part of the look was the bright pop of colour that was added at the end. Each model got a bright, almost neon orange on the lips or eyes.

Aveda was backstage styling hair. The styles that they were creating were sleek rope braids.

Tips Nail Bar were also on hand to give the girls stick on half glitter manicures. They looked great!

Going backstage was lots of fun, thanks MAC & Aveda!  I’ll be going backstage during Fashion week too. Can’t wait!
