Summer is here, and it’s time to visit some patios! I was invited to a patio party to taste the new summer menu at Fionn MacCool’s.
It was a beautiful day, and I started off by sipping on a tart Pear & Vanilla Spiced Lemonade. I loved this drink! Fresh lemonade, Captain Morgan Spiced Rum, ginger soda and pear juice make the perfect patio sipper.
This refreshing Pear and Pomegranate Salad is tossed in a honey citrus vinaigrette. Spinach leaves and shaved Parmesan add to the uniqueness of this pear salad. It’s a perfect summer starter to your meal.
For the Dublin Street Sandwich, flat ironed steak is stuffed into a naan flatbread and garnished with peppers, onion, cucumber and a spicy sauce. I didn’t find the sauce that spicy, but I think I have a high spice tolerance.
We were served two sliders, and they both ended up being my favourites! Pictured above is the delectable Lamb Burger, topped with Indian spiced braised onions and Stilton cheese. The patty was so moist and the onions were sweet, a bit like a chutney. Delicious!
These Bacon Sarnies (a British short-form for Sandwiches, of course. Tiny ones.) were second on my list of deliciousness. I think it’s because it consisted of two of my favourite ingredients at the moment- avocados and bacon. Bonus: This sandwich has two types of bacon, back bacon and sliced bacon! The avocado was accented with a grilled lime wedge. Mmm.
Last but not least is was the succulent Steak and Shrimp. The bavette steak was served medium rare with Chimichurra sauce. The jumbo shrimp was huge and grilled to perfection.
As a sweet end to the meal, finish off with warm Red Velvet Donuts.
