This is a sponsored post, but my opinions remain my own!

Sometimes you just need a break. Those breaks can’t always be planned. Lucky for us, Toronto has an abundance of hotels. If you’re feeling stressed out, or want a fun weekend in the city, why not check into a nearby hotel?

I recently checked into the Holiday Inn Downtown. With my IHG Rewards Club membership, I was able to easily book a room with the app, and earn points! Earning points is great because you get rewarded for each stay, and can earn free nights. Not into free hotel stays? Points can be redeemed for flights, music downloads, electronics and gift cards

The Holiday Inn Downtown is in a convenient location at 30 Carlton Street, steps to College Subway Station. It’s also very close to the Maple Leaf Garden Loblaws (my fav location) and several restaurants.  When I arrived, the hotel was bustling! It’s definitely a hot spot for tourists, business people and families.

I loved the modern, spacious lobby.

Our room had all of the necessities, including a queen sized bed and a flat screen TV. The bed was pretty comfy and the bathroom was a good size. The bed had two different type of pillow, firm or soft, so that you can sleep with your preferred pillow type. Love it.

In the morning, I enjoyed the breakfast buffet that was stacked with the best bacon (perfectly crisp and not greasy), breakfast potatoes, cereal, eggs, pastries and fresh fruit.  It was a good start to get back to reality as we checked out. All in all a perfect stay!
