This weekend, I went to watch Spiegelworld with my best friend. I didn’t know what to expect, but being a fan or Cirque du Soleil and burlesque, I knew that I would leave entertained. The show is a mix of comedy, circus, vaudeville and burlesque.

The tent was smaller than I expected. It’s a really intimate show! It can seat 700 people, but didn’t feel like that. The tent was really magical. It’s designed especially for the show and travels with it. The tent is made of antique wood, beveled mirrors and stained glass, and has some of the best lighting for photos that I’ve ever seen in a show.

The Empire show was sexy, bawdy, awe-inspiring and beautiful. The stand up skit between acts definitely isn’t for kids, but was very funny, with a bizarrely funny banana skit.

The opening number was my favourite, with a captivating acrobat performing and then coming out of a suspended bubble. The performers were suberb- talented, flexible and just a bit magical. The show had a live band and amazing singer that performed throughout the show.
