Prep’d Takes the prep time out of cooking

IMG_20140506_213456I always have these grand ideas to actually cook a meal. When it gets down to it, however, I never have all of the ingredients and end up making a frozen thing instead. (For the record, I bake more than I cook.)

Enter Prepd.

Prepd is a new Toronto based company that delivers fresh ingredients and easy step by step recipes straight to your door. Prepd lets you cook a balanced meal each night without stressing over ingredients or what to make.

They sent me their Top Sirloin and their Spring Minestrone meal to try out. Here’s my experience with the Top Sirloin.

1-IMG_1142The kit came with everything that I needed to make the meal (except for oil.) Baby potatoes, asparagus, garlic, dill, steak and butter. The steak would be served with dill smashed mini potatoes and garlic roasted asparagus.

IMG_20140506_203000377 IMG_20140506_201049514I followed the super easy instructions and found myself cooking steak! Confession: This was my first time cooking steak.

The meal was done in about 40 minutes, and everything came out really good!

IMG_20140506_204052398(Okay, so the steak is a little burnt, but I want us to be cool enough to get past that.)

This meal was delicious! My family loved the steak and especially the potatoes, and couldn’t believe that it was just seasoned with butter and fresh dill. I also loved that unusual purple potatoes were in the mix.

This sounds like just what I need. The prep work is the longest part of making dinner, so it will save tons of time. Also, any prep that involves chopping doesn’t usually go well for me lol
