Picture This: IceFest

IMG_0210On a cold February afternoon, ice wine lovers gathered in Liberty Village to sample some of Ontario’s finest Ice Wines. It was the second annual Ice Fest held by iYellow Wine Club. Over 25 wines were available for tasting. These wines included many icewines, but also sparkling, red and white wine. Click here to see a full wine list.

IMG_0196I fell in love with Small Talk Wines when I first saw them at the Taste the Season in Niagara on the Lake.

The above wine is their Dessert Anyone Vidal Icewine ($35). It has a nice deep yellow colour and is sweet…but not overly so. This was my favourite white ice wine at the event!

Yum. I want to buy it, and it’s actually affordable compared to my other favourite ice wine. Which brings me to….

IMG_0214Inniskillin, also in Niagara on the Lake has produced a fabulous Cabernet Franc Icewine. It’s perfection….but perfection doesn’t come cheap. This bottle comes in at $89.95.

This wine is also available as a decadent Sparkling Cabernet Frac Icewine for $119.95. Few wineries make sparkling Icewine, so this really stood out for me. A perfect wine for a celebration!

Take a look at some photos from the day!
