As we drew closer to the island, a few birds here and there circled the sky, some diving into the ocean to capture fish. Eventually, these few birds became hundreds.
As our boat docked on the island, only a few birds remained to be seen. Welcome to Bonadventure Island. The island is a short hop away from Percé, Quebec. What makes this tiny island unique are the two hundred thousand birds that live here. Of these, a colony of 110,000 northern gannets attract visitors from around the world. (more…)

The Right Swipe by Alisha Rai
Wonderfully addictive, I loved the multicultural characters, and the strong female lead focused on her career.
Rhiannon Hunter may have revolutionized romance in the digital world, but in real life she only swipes right on her career—and the occasional hookup. The cynical dating app creator controls her love life with a few key rules. Only there aren’t any rules to govern her attraction to her newest match, former pro-football player Samson Lima. The sexy and seemingly sweet hunk woos her one magical night… and disappears. Rhi thought she’d buried her hurt over Samson ghosting her, until he suddenly surfaces months later, still big, still beautiful—and in league with a business rival. He says he won’t fumble their second chance, but she’s wary. A temporary physical partnership is one thing, but a merger of hearts? Surely that’s too high a risk… Buy it here.

What’s your favourite foundation? We’ve reviewed several on this blog, and one of our hands-down-favourite foundation is DoubleWear by Estée Lauder. We’re not the only fans, this foundation is universally loved, especially in Canada. The popular foundation is celebrating Canadians with the launch of a new campaign. The new campaign celebrates diversity across Canada, and shines a spotlight on the fact that the foundation is made in Canada! That’s right, Canada is only one of two countries that are producing DoubleWear.
Estée Lauder Stay-in-Place Makeup is their #1 foundation, first launched in 1997. DoubleWear delivers 24-hour wear with a matte finish that looks flawless and natural. The colour stays true with buildable, medium to full coverage for all skin tones, and I mean all! The foundation is available in a whopping 56 shades in Canada and is $56 each.
The campaign features 11 Canadians of all different complexions and shades. Each person has a story to tell about their background and what finding the perfect foundation match means to them.
You can never have too many highlighters. Stila has come out with an amazing highlighter palette called “Little White Lies Heavenly Highlighting Palette”. This one is special because on the surface, the colours look very similar. When applied, each shade comes to life, and transforms. The texture is a cream and powder combination.
Another cool thing about the highlighter is the base is actually translucent. What is being picked up by the light, are actually tinted pearl particles. The palette comes with 3 shades, and lasts all day when applied.
This palette is perfect to give you a summer glow.
