I’m a bit of a perfume addict. I have different ones for different occasions, and several that I discover that I’ve stashed inside purses and forgotten about.
My Marc Jacobs fragrances are never forgotten or lost in a purse. They’re put up carefully and taken out for special occasions.
Marc Jacobs newest perfume, Mod Noir, may be my favourite fragrance from him yet. I liked Daisy Dream, but Mod Noir just seems to speak to me.
First, let’s look at the packaging and bottle.Marc has kept it simple and classy, with an elegant black and white striped design. The bottle was designed by Established and is inspired by Marc’s quirky, striped fashion prints and runway collections. The bottle has a matte frosted finish, and a shiny circular top.
The airy floral fragrance opens with a field of lush, dewy greens, which gives way to freshly cut gardenias floating atop sparkling water, creamy musks leave a sensual dry down on the skin.
The fragrance has top notes of fresh greens and a creamy musk base. The heart is Marc’s favourite flower, gardenia.
Mod Noir is sold in 3 formats: a handy 10ml rollerball ($30) or a 30ml ($80) or 50ml ($110) bottle. The fragrance is available exclusively at Sephora. I know I’ll be spritzing this on all summer long!
