Just in time for BBQ season, Sobeys has released an all-new line of fresh Canadian burgers handcrafted in-store daily. So what makes these burgers so awesome?
Burgers are made from 100% AAA Canadian beef with no preservatives or additives. Cattle is pasture-raised and grain-fed. The burger patties are made fresh in store daily so that you can have fresh burgers whenever you want!
So how can you cook them? One thing that I learned recently is the difference between grilling and barbequing.
Grilling is when you are cooking the burgers on an open grill, flipping frequently. Barbequing, is when you only flip occasionally, and the lid is closed. Who knew? Another tip is that you should always add your sauce and seasoning last for ultimate flavour kick.
Last weekend, my Dad and I (Okay, mostly him.) grilled up some 100% Chuck burgers from Sobeys. We tried the traditional burgers, but you can also get your hands on flavours such as bacon and cheddar, jalapeno and cheese and even poutine gravy and cheese curds! And at $2.49 a burger, it’s affordable.
I chose to dream up my own toppings, but Sobeys has some great suggestions! (My favourite is this bacon and cheese topper!)
For our burgers, I sautéed some mushrooms, melted brie cheese, spinach, BBQ sauce and tomatoes for burger toppings. Oh, and I doubled the burger. The result?
Juicy, meaty burgers that my family loved, and I know yours will too. Are you one of the 93% of Canadians that plan to eat at least one burger this summer?
