Läderach Chocolate opens its first Canadian flagship in Toronto

Listen up chocolate lovers, there’s a new place in Toronto to get fresh, high-quality chocolate. Läderach has arrived in the Toronto Eaton Centre. Läderach specializes in ultra-fresh chocolate and aims to be the freshest chocolate manufacturer in the world. They have 90 stores in different countries, and the Toronto store is their Canadian flagship.  All of their chocolate is produced in Switzerland. The chocolate that they create is exclusively sold in their own stores so that they can ensure that the chocolate is the freshest possible. A bar of chocolate that started as a cocoa bean a mere 6 weeks ago can be found fresh in their stores at the counter.

At Läderach‘s grand opening, we were treated to an authentic Swiss parade with traditional alphorns. It was so cool to see those unique horns being played. As a company, they work hard to treat all employees fairly, starting with the cocoa farmers. They pay them a fair wage and source their chocolate direct.

Läderach‘s Swiss Chocolate master, Elias Läderach was at the opening.

At the young age of 29, he earned the title of World Chocolate Master. Amazing!

Now let’s talk about chocolate! When you first step into the store, you can’t help but notice the glass counter filled with FrischSchoggi.  Those are bars of their fresh chocolate, filled with different ingredients. There are 20 different types, and they’re sold by weight.

Milk chocolate with caramelized hazelnuts is one of their most popular flavours. It’s rich, and there’s a thin layer of crisp caramel over the nuts. I tried the dark chocolate with caramelized almonds and the florentine with ground caramel almonds. Can you tell that I love almonds? Some other flavours include Raspberry strawberry, honey, mixed fruit, cranberry and much more.

There are 60 variations of pralines and truffles. They have a beautiful truffle case where you can pick and choose your flavours, or you can find them packaged around the store.

Check out the store and discover all of the chocolate treats within. Find out more at Läderach.
