Hunting for dragons at Casa Loma’s newest escape game: the Dragon’s Song

There’s nothing quite like hunting for dragons in a Gothic castle. I was invited to play the newest escape room from Secret City Adventures. Casa Loma Escapes executes my favourite escape room in the city. You can’t beat the location, and the story is always epic and fitting for a castle. The Dragon’s Song is their newest adventure. It brings together elements of fantasy, puzzle solving, teamwork and technology into one hands-on action packed game.

As we began our journey, a knight greeted us an informed us of our quest. In this world, dragons are almost extinct. An alchemist has discovered that the last dragon egg is said to be in an abandoned tower. Our quest? To find the egg and save the dragons from extinction. An alchemist has left three days ahead of our group, but hasn’t been seen since.

We were taken up into the tower and several spiral staircases (my favourite part of the castle) and ran around like mad trying to solve clues. I loved the way technology was used in this game. There was a magic mirror and cool interactive tablets. The actors running the game were also excellent. I don’t want to give anything away, so this is all I’ll say about it for now.

This game is family friendly, so everyone can participate! The minimum age to play is 8 years old. You can choose to play this game in easy or in difficult mode. The game is available Monday to Sunday, and tickets start at $40 plus tax. Tickets are available here.
