I had the opportunity to go back to school with Guerlain’s international makeup artist Maxime Poulin! The morning was full of beauty tips, and new product launched from French beauty brand Guerlain.
Maxime taught us everything from how to do an easy contour, to a history lesson of the makeup of the1920s! Here are some of my favourite tips I learned, as well as the new products Maxime introduced.
Guerlain Intense Liquid Matte Lipstick
With the help of a formula created with unique ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, and tiger grass, this new Intense Liquid Matte Lipstick is softer and smoother in application then a lot of other liquid lipsticks I’ve tried. Coming in 7 shades such as appealing orange, charming beige, and my favourite exciting pink, Intense Liquid Matte has a shade for whatever mood you’re feeling! Guerlain always has beautiful packaging, with each colour having a black ombre finish. If you’re not feeling like putting on a lot of lipstick, Maxime suggests putting some on your finger, and blotting on your lips for some simple colour. Retails for $40 at the Bay
Terracotta Sun Trio
Maxime gave us a little history lesson in everyone’s favourite makeup trend, contouring. In the 1920’s ,since the lights were so bright on film sets, the actor’s features would be washed out. Contouring and bronzing helped to bring out the features. With Guerlain’s sun trio, you can accomplish a natural looking contour without over doing it. The three shades are to tan, highlight and contour the complexion. Retails for $63.00 at the Bay
Meteorite Baby Glow Touch CC Luminizer
Everyone loves a highlighting stick! Guerlain put their famous meteorites powder into a beautiful stick highlighter for on the go! Combining 3 rosy highlighting shades, strobing is made easy! Not to mention it smells great!Retails for $48.00 at the Bay
Abeille Royal Oil
It’s always important to take care of your skin ,so that the rest of your makeup look looks great! Guerlain has reformulated their youth boosting oil with the help of honey bees! The new forumla is enriched with pure Ouessant honey and Guerlain exclude royal jelly. The oil plumps smooths, and illuminates texture of skin for a youthful look and glow instantly and over time.
Lingerie De Peau Aqua Nude
If you’re looking for a weightless, non detectable foundation, this formula is for you. This foundation has 2x less texture on skin than classic fluid foundation, and almost virtually cannot be seen. Due to the water based Hydrating Aqua Plump Complex, the foundation also improves skin’s hydration, and distributes water evenly over surface of skin. The foundation comes in 6 shades.Retails for $60.00 at the Bay
At the end of the day, Maxime says it’s about picking which features you love about yourself and highlighting those, and making everything harmonize with each other to show your true beauty. With all of the new Guerlain products it should be easier than ever!
