Get Ready for Summer with the Ten Spot

ten1

The weather is warming up, and spring is finally here! I headed to the Ten Spot for a spring manicure. The Ten Spot has been a favourite of mine for a long time. Every time the expand, I hope to hear that they’ve announced a location in Scarborough or Pickering. Not yet…but a girl can dream! I headed down to the Ten Spot Leslieville to try their waxing service, and for a gel manicure.

The Ten Spot offers an array of services in their ultra sleek spaces. Each location has a nail bar, a wax bar and a facial bar. Pedicures and manicures are done in the front of the store, and waxes are done in a private room. Take a peek of their service menu.

I had a lower leg wax ($30) in a private room outfitted with a beautifully distracting TV playing romantic comedies. My esthetician was very nice and professional. If you’re shy, you can put a towel over your underwear. The wax was done quickly and relatively pain free, leaving me with super silky legs.

Next, it was time for the Gel Colour Manicure ($45). This manicure uses gel polish and lasts for up to 2 weeks! You can get solid colours, or you can add on nail art for an additional $8. Gel nail art options include : dots, vertical line, half moons, chevrons, corners, coloured french, clouds, sparkle fade, hearts and silhouettes!

I had my heart set on a sparkle fade manicure, but I wanted it to start at the bottom instead of the top. I chose a nude colour, OPI Salmon Sand and a silver glitter.

I was beyond thrilled with my manicure! I got tons of compliments on it, and it lasted for 3 weeks! A perfect way to welcome spring, no?

The Ten Spot has 10 locations in Toronto, and more in the GTA. Find a spot near you and get prepped for the warm weather!

The Ten Spot Leslieville is located at 916 Queen St E, Toronto.
