G for Gelato…Pizza & Gelato, together at last

1-August 2014The other day I was treated to a night of pizza and gelato. Yes…you heard right. Pizza and gelato, together at last? Where is this magical place? G for Gelato!

Not only do they make some of the best gelato around, they are also pretty damn good at making delectable pizza pies.

Each morning, they bake fresh focaccia bread, and they always source local ingredients and fresh veggies for their foods. In addition to pizza, G for Gelato makes paninis, salads, cappuccinos and more! Take a peek at the menu.

I started off with a fresh Caprese salad. This is my all time favourite salad, and it was one of the best I’ve had. The fior di latte was so fresh!

Next up, it was pizza time! Their thin crust pizzas are made with their own dough recipe, and is ready within 5 minutes in their super hot oven! Pizzas are $14- $17 and can be shared by 2 or eaten by 1.

The best part of the night was making our very own pizza! We all paired up and got to make a pie. It was tons of fun!

At this point, I was beyond full, but there was still gelato to be had! I tasted tested a few and took some home.

1-IMG_3571There are 32 flavours of gelato. From classic flavours like chocolate, to more inventive flavours like Red Bull, there’s something for everyone.

I fell in love with Banana Waffle Chip, but ended up taking home Pistachio, S’more and Chocolate Sea Salt. I had serious doubts that it would make it home, but G for Gelato was on the ball. They packed it into an insulated container and then popped it into a freezer carrying bag. It took me about 45 minutes to get home….and the gelato made it!

In short- the gelato was amazing. I shared some with my family and it left us all fervently vowing to head to G for Gelato for some more gelato in the near future.

G for Gelato is at 75 Jarvis St Toronto, ON M5C 2H2.
