Now that summer is finally here, my Fit Chicks group has moved outside to a nearby park for our bootcamp! It’s nice to work out in the park. Although there are more bugs (ick) there’s also cute dogs and adorable children.
In class, we’ve been doing Tabatas, and I was surprised to discover that I like them! I didn’t know what Tabatas were, so you may not either. Tabata training is a high-intensity interval training (HIIT). It consists of eight rounds of ultra-high-intensity exercises in a specific 20-seconds-on, 10-seconds-off interval.
In class, we’ll do a set of lunges, fast punches and squats in this order. There are lots of different moves so you never get bored, and they are just short enough that you can get through them. It’s very efficient and is definitely a good workout. My body hurts in a good way after them!
July is coming fast! Are you interested in trying a Fit Chicks class? Head to the website, new bootcamps will start next week! http://www.fitchicks.ca
