Entice Culinary Lounge is an upscale bistro on Queen West. I love the minimalist black and white decor, and the textured wall. They also have a quirky door opener if you need a hand…
“The inspiration behind the menu is the multiculturalism of Toronto,” says Executive Chef Ryan Wilson Lall. Before Entice, he was at FRANK as the Chef de Cuisine. The menu features global comfort foods with special twists on each dish to elevate the culinary experience.
Entice has a full bar (with built in screens on the tables) with cocktails, wine and spirits.
We started our meal with a few appetizers.
This single raviolo was oversized and filled with egg. The best way to eat this delicate dish? From the centre out. This dish is designed to reflect the diamond shape of the logo.
Then we moved into the mains.
This was a rich dish that was well prepared and went well with the carrot puree, and sautéed and blanched baby turnips.
I loved this sea bream. The fish was tender and served with a beurre blanc sauce. The vegetables were perfectly cooked to go with it. The below custom lemon squeezer was served with it, and it helps to keep your fingers lemon free. Classy.
The K-Beef Ribs are prefect for a quick snack or starter. The ribs are marinated for 24 hours in ginger ale, and then marinated again for 24 hours in their own spice blend. Underneath is their house made kimchi. I loved the flavour punch that these ribs packed. Sweet but with a delicious charred taste, this was my favourite dish.
The striploin is served with ius poured over a hot salt rock from BC to warm up and get the scent of the jus. The mushrooms on the side are roasted and then BBQed on high heat. It was an unusual way to serve mushrooms, definitely very unique.
We were incredibly full, but still found room for dessert! We had tea along with dessert, and I was pleased to see that they serve one of my favourite tea brands, Sloane!
This tea box was lit…literally. It lights up as it is opened. It was one of the most impressive ways that I’ve ever selected my tea before, and I drink a lot of tea. I’ve basically made it my life goal to own this.
For dessert, we had the tres leche waffles. These two mini waffles were doused with a liberal serving of tres leche as it was served to us. It was the perfect size to finish a meal.
Entice is a perfect spot to grab a drink or to go on a first date. Check them out at www.enticelounge.com!
