Eggspectation is more than just brunch!

I’m having a fun time exploring my new neighborhood, St.Lawrence Market. When I saw signs that Eggspectation was going to be opening up soon, I knew I had to check it out. We’re all familiar with Eggpectation’s brunch menu, but what about their dinner menu?

Eggspectation serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. They have a surprisingly large menu that includes smoothies, burgers, sandwiches, pasta, crepes and more.

The decor in the restaurant is bright and modern, with seating at the front of the restaurant as well as booths and more seating in the back.

The first thing I tried was the Pagé, A Tropical Paradise Smoothie ($6.45) The smoothie was a blend of banana, strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, mango and pineapple, and orange juice. That’s a lot of fruit! It was delicious, and came with a huge heart shaped strawberry on the glass.

Next up, crab cakes. The Crab Cakes $13.95) were crunchy and tender, served on spicy coleslaw and topped with lemon aioli. I liked it but wished there was a tiny bit less sauce drizzled on top.

The Lobster Mac and Cheese ($24.95) had penne noodles in an incredibly cheesy and gooey sauce, with large, succulent chunks of lobster inside. If you’re a fan of cheese and lobster, you’ll love this.

The Tex Mex Crepe ($20) is stuffed with tender grilled 6 oz.NY strip steak, sautéed peppers and onions, goat cheese and hollandaise sauce.
If you’re looking for a menu that can please a crowd, or satisfy your lobster mac n cheese craving, head to Eggspectation!
Eggspectation is located at 22 the Esplanade, Toronto
