On a lovely evening, Indigo invited me to a night of colourful cocktails and colouring books to explore the newest trend of adult colouring. This is a trend that I can 100% get behind! As an illustrator, I’ve always been a fan of colouring and drawing. I’m so happy to see that its gone mainstream!

It was a fun evening with delicious, bright cocktails, live caricature drawings, and of course, colouring. We learned about the benefits of colouring. It can be a great stress reliever and creative outlet. It doesn’t overwhelm the less creatively inclined like drawing might, because all you have to do is colour in the lines and you’re good to go!

If you ever want to hear a quiet room of bloggers, just give them colouring books and pencils! We coloured in pages from Indigo’s new literary colouring book, Anna Karenina. It’s coming out next month!

This Saturday September 26th is National Colouring Day! At10 AM, all IndigoKids locations will be offering storytime hour, and at Indigo, Chapters and Coles locations nation-wide we’ll be giving out free colouring sheets.

It would also be a great time to pick up a beautiful colouring book! My favourites are Secret Paris and Fantastic Cities.
