The Gardiner Museum is home to a new restaurant this fall. Clay is a new, beautifully designed restaurant brought to us from the genius minds of The Food Dudes.
Clay offers a select, seasonal menu featuring fresh, local ingredients. They’re open for brunch and lunch. I was invited to check out the new space, and immediately fell in love with the clean, simple design.
I love the soft pastels and bold wine tones. In addition to a select menu, Clay has a full bar. Here are some of the dishes that I tried.
The Ontario Lamb Burger ($19) is topped with Cranberry Goat Cheese, Rosemary Mustard, Chili Jam and Field of Greens Salad. It was delicious and my favourite dish of the evening.

Butternut Squash soup
Albacore Tuna Nicoise ($21) with Confit Tuna, Sous Vide Egg and Charred Tomato Vinaigrette
The Ricotta Gnocchi ($22) has a rich Sausage Bolognese, San Marzano Tomato and Pecorino Cheese. They’re light as air and very satisfying.
Last but not least, this chocolate cake ($10) is to die for! It’s served with Espresso Ice Cream, Salted Caramel, a unique and tasty Sesame Crumb and dollops of Red Wine Gel.
Clay is the perfect location for a quick business meeting or a get together with some friends. It’s central location means that you can explore the Gardiner museum or the ROM after your meal!
