I’ve got you covered for the month of August in Toronto! Here’s whats going down.

Saturday, August 4th 2012: The 46th Annual Caribana Parade– This jumping parade is not to be missed. Over 10,000 masquerades will participate as they strut and dance down the 3.6 km route in elaborate costumes, set to the vibrant Caribbean beats. Where: Exhibition Place & Lakeshore Boulevard (10am – 6pm)

Friday August 10th- Sunday August 12th:
Pilaro’s Taste of the Danforth The Danforth comes alive for this three day street festival crammed with Greek food (and lots of other kinds too). My favourite dish? Messoni’s gyro with french fries! Where: 2.5 kilometer stretch of Danforth Avenue. Friday 6pm-12am, Saturday 12pm-12am, Sunday 12pm-8pm

Thursday August 23- Sunday August 26, 2012 BuskerFest There is something for everyone at this festival; silent comedy and slapstick, daredevils and magicians, high skill circus acts and a wide variety of music, clowns, contortionists, acrobats, aerialists, puppets, fire and a few things we have no words to describe. Where:  St. Lawrence Market area.

Friday August 24- Sunday August 26, 2012: TAIWANfest. A three-day culinary arts, music, dance and film fest that sparks a new dialogue on Canada’s multifaceted lifestyles between new immigrants and Canadians who have been here for generations. Where: Harbourfront Centre

August 17 to September 3, 2012:
The Canadian National Exhibition: To me this festival symbolizes the end of summer! Visit the food building to try yummy (and admittedly greasy) food from various cultures. visit the International building to visit booths from around the world. You can even go shopping at the outlets for stores like Stitches, Bluenotes and others. Walk the midway, play a few games or go on the ferris wheel! Where: Exhibition Place, Bathurst
