I’ve been a little silent recently, but I have a good reason. I got married! It was a perfect day, and as an added bonus, I didn’t trip down the aisle. I added lots of fun touches to my wedding, and I’ll be sharing some of the crafty things that I did in a series of DIYs. I’ll also be sharing photos and more details about the day soon! (more…)
Tarte has a great brand new on the go product, Clay Stick Foundation. I was super excited to try this after hearing great reviews!
The foundation stick is full coverage, and is a powder to liquid formula meaning when it is put to your skin, the formula melts and is easy to blend out. Although it is full coverage, foundation feels super light weight on my skin which is not too common for full coverage foundations. The finish is also matte which is an extra bonus for me and my sometimes oily skin, and can be used as a concealer, or playing around with different shades you can highlight and contour.
The foundation has a flawless great finish which I love, and truly did stay on for the day (Tarte promises 12 hours) and looked great at the end of the night! Although I applied with a beauty blender for more coverage, Tarte also makes a brush called the smoothie blender which is also great for blending out the product if you want medium coverage.
Overall a great product!

Growing up, I’ve always had a stand mixer in my kitchen. This is because my mom is a baker. To me, a stand mixer is a necessity to bake picture perfect cakes, breads and pies. Of course, you don’t need a stand mixer to bake, but doesn’t it make everything easier? (more…)
It’s a little bittersweet, but it’s the last month of summer! Here to take the sting away from the end is the CNE rolling into town. This annual exhibition is a tradition that I never miss! The CNE runs from August 18th to September 4th this year.
This summer on the bandstand visitors can catch live performances from Kiefer Sutherland, Sam Roberts Band, A Tribe Called Red and Dear Rouge.
Food lovers, don’t fret. There’s always something new and delicious to try at the CNE. This year the CNE will be hosting a East Coast VIP Lobster Dinner. VIP Patrons will be seated in an exclusive area on Princes’ Blvd. illuminated by overhead Edison lights with a live soundtrack provided by the Celtic Rock Warrior Band, the Mudmen. Dinner will include a luscious Lobster with traditional sides of potato salad, (and) corn on the cobb all catered by Picton’s The Sand and Pearl. Tickets are $141 per person.
This year, the CNE will be unveiling a sign much like the icon TORONTO sign at City Hall. The 8 foot tall sign will spell CNE and include a maple leag. It’s sure to be popular with Instagrammers! At night, visitors can catch a new show, MZ Laser. The show features a “human lazer” which sounds intriguing!
Of course, my favouite part of the CNE is the food trucks and the iconic food building. I’ve partnered with the CNE to give away Ride All Day passes and General Admission passes to the CNE! Sound like fun? Enter below for your chance to win!
Benefit has done a huge rebranding of all of their concealers! The quirky cosmetics company has rebranded the packaging, as well as the formula for their erase paste, which is now the Bo-oing Airbrush Concealer. Each product resembles super cute 90s school style erasers, hinting at the fact that you can erase any imperfections with each formula!
