GlobLove Lingerie

GlobLove Lingerie is a Canadian brand that creates soft, feminine lingerie adorned with cute ruffles, lace and bows. The brand is founded by Liana Artinian from Montreal. If it isn’t awesome enough to be supporting a Canadian brand, 5% percent of all proceeds will go toward FINCA, an organization that offers microfinance opportunities to women in developing countries.

Their new collection, Factory Girl, is just as comfy as it is cute. Check it out!

Stay adorable and warm with Smart Wool

Smart Wool socks and long underwear

Winter is finally waning, and although I’m happy, I’m also sad. I’ve been staying toasty and warm with the cutest long johns ever. I first discovered SmartWool when I started hunting for a pair of cute but warm long  underwear.

I bought the Midweight Pattern Long Underwear Bottoms ($100) and matching top ($100). These are their best selling and warmest base layer. They are form fitting and won’t shrink in the dryer. “No matter how hard you exercise, in whatever temp, SmartWool socks and apparel don’t retain moisture, so odor causing bacteria don’t have any place to thrive.”

I can’t stress how true this is. I wore my base layers and socks in Quebec and Toronto. They are pretty much stink proof.  I was never cold, and they were incredibly comfy. They didn’t dig into my skin and they weren’t itchy.
Smart Wool produces various types of active wear, and all products are all made from Merino wool. They have done an incredible amount of research (for 17 years!)  to ensure that they are providing  top notch products. You can also feel good while wearing and buying their products. SmartWool partners with farmers in New Zealand that raise Merino sheep. They ensure that they have have adopted best management practices and seek to continually improve animal welfare.

So why wool? “Research shows that because of wool’s effective moisture management, you maintain a lower and more stable core body temperature when wearing wool next to skin instead of synthetics.”

And their socks? They are probably the most high tech socks I’ve ever put on my feet.

I bought the Phd Outdoor Medium Crew. I think it goes without saying that they were super warm and well cushioned. My feet never got wet,  and they also didn’t smell after being in my boots all day. The socks come in all different weights for all seasons and different types of activities.  I can’t wait to try out their summer gear to test how breathable these socks are while bike riding or hiking! Don’t Cook…Just Eat

When I was younger, we used to have a drawer just for take out menus.  Now, whenever I try to save a take out menu or flyer, someone invariably throws it out, and I end up Googling for the number and menu. It doesn’t have to be like that. There’s a better way.

I’d been seeing ads for for awhile, but didn’t realize how useful it could be until I was searching for my favourite Chinese restaurant, and it came up on On the website, they had listed the entire menu. I didn’t have to open slow loading pdfs or squint at bad jpegs. Once you’ve decided what to order, you can pre-tip!

Not sure where to order from? Simple! Just enter your postal code, select what type of food you feel like eating, and presto. You’ll get a list of restaurants that are available to order from. You can also order to pick up, if you want to grab food on the way home. With service this convenient, why cook at all? (I’m looking at you, Gordon Oliver.) Don’t cook…just eat!

Tokidoki x Sol Republic Tracks on Ear Headphones Review

I may or may not be a tiny bit obsessed with Tokidoki.  I love them and I was beyond ecstatic when I found out that they were releasing a collection of headphones with Sol Republic. I was very lucky to be able to try out a pair of their headphones! Take a look.

The Tokidoki Tracks on Ear Headphones ($199) are super unique, and well made. Simply unboxing them was lots of fun! Everything was beautifully branded, from the tissue paper right down to the limited edition keychain figurine that came with the headphones. The headphones came with three stickers and a carrying pouch.

Fun stickers!
Branded tissue paper

The headphones are a bit of a DIY project. The ear cups and cable come separately. All you have to do is slide them onto the headband, plug in the cable and voila! Insta-headphones. (This also solves one of my biggest problems with headphones- usually one of the ear phones stop working because of the cable. If that happens, all you have to do is replace the cable!)

The headband is super flexible and very strong. Take a look at those beautiful illustrations!

Now that they’re all set up, here are some specs!

  • Powerful Sound You Can Feel:  Featuring V10 Sound Engines, Tracks HD are fully loaded with deeper bass, higher vocal clarity and crisp vocals so you can feel the full power of your music.
  • Listen In Comfort: Our SonicSoft™ Speaker Pads and extra wide ear cushions let you enjoy your music in comfort for hours.
  • Virtually Indestructible: Constructed of a seriously advanced polymer compound, our FlexTech™ Sound Track headband is built to withstand heavy abuse. Twist it, bend it, drop it – it’s not going to break on you.
  • Personal Style: The world’s first interchangeable headphones, you can swap out our Cleartalk™ cables and Sound Track headbands with ease.
  • Slim-Fit Neo Case: Neoprene sleeve lets you transport your headphones with ease.
  • 3-Button Mic + Music Control: Lets you adjust the volume, pause/resume/skip music and answer/hang-up calls. The high clarity mic captures every word possible.
  • Compatibility: 3-button mic + music control is designed specifically for full feature compatibility with recent generations of Apple devices. The audio and mic are likely to work with most devices that have a 3.5mm jack, including but not limited to, Android, Blackberry and Windows devices.

These headphones are incredibly comfortable. The ear cushions are soft but not huge, so it’s perfect for my tiny ears. The sound is clear with a nice deep bass. I found that the sound does leak a little bit from the ear cups. The cable that comes with the headphones is not Android compatible, and didn’t work for my Motorola Razr HD. However, I bought a purple Cleartalk cable, and now it works perfectly. I can pause, skip tracks and answer the phone.

I would recommend these headphones if you are looking for a new pair of daily headphones. They are almost indestructible, comfortable and very stylish. Check out the pair I have, and the other design available!

Sweet treats at Ps by Prettysweet

Tucked into a quiet section of King West is a charming bakery in a unexpected place.
Ps by Prettysweet is one of the most well designed bakeries that I’ve seen in the entire city.

The owner, Adjoa Duncan, has decorated the store in pink and white, with items from her own collection. Charming touches include vintage frames, a handmade spoon and fork chandelier and giant whisk lights.

The food is just as sweet as the decor. Cupcakes, chocolate chip cookies, brownies, butter tarts and blondies are available daily. I sampled the best blondie ($1.75) I’ve ever had. Chewy and dense, this blondie could very well be your new best friend. You can buy bags of brownie or blondie “ends” for $5. Yum. I also loved the chocolate chip cookie: chewy, buttery and studded with large chocolate chips, it was perfect.

Tea, hot chocolate and lattes are available to go with your tasty treat. You can also order custom cakes or pick up one to go. Judging from the amount of people I saw in the store within the short amount of time that I was there, I think that it will do well!

Ps by Prettysweet is located on 848 King Street West.
